White Flower: Bume Analgesique – Parfum Rafraichiss Ant

[Analgesic Balm
Refreshing scent]

I would like to thank everyone who prayed for my recovery. It's been nip and tuck here and I can truly feel all the prayers. :-) No doctors, thank God. And, as of today, feel definitely on the road to health. We've been doing a variety of treatments, among them being the lemon-soda soaks, foot rubs, head steams, garlic and other herbal teas, essential oils and others that slip my mind. I'm feeling so much better than I was!

Has anyone ever heard of the Oriental perfume “White Flower”? A few years ago my mother was discussing sinus problems with the owner of a health food store and the woman handed Mom this small package. On it were inscriptions from the alphabet of the Orient with English and French translations, and when opened, held a small vial with white flowers gracing the front of it.

The ingredients are the following:
Menthol 16%w/w
Methyl Salicylate 28%w/w
Eucalyptus Oil 18%w/w
Peppermint Oil 14%w/w
Camphor 10%w/w

Can you imagine what is smells like now? It's a smell that seems almost alive as it pulses with the heart, through the channels of the body... it's very strong. It helps clear blockages, even regarding lungs. I used it when I was dealing with pneumonia the last time. My sister Ellie has used it many times when she can't get anything to move in her sinuses and always had relief.

Several days ago, my nose and everything attached to it was plugged and had been for several days. I couldn't get anything to move, except for what drained down the back of my throat when I was supposed to be sleeping at night. I suspected that the lack of rest was not helping me progress towards health. And besides that, I really didn't want go through another night coughing my heart out. Mom told me to use White Flower in a steam to see if it would help and I decided to give it a go.

Four drops of White Flower in a stainless steel bowl as the water was heating on the stove. I couldn't smell a thing, even when I held my face over the bowl. That was pretty bad. Usually if one were to do that, it would make the eyes smart. I wondered if it was even going to work with the water in it since I was so stuffed up. That was when I decided not to add as much water as Ellie normally did.

I poured about five cups of nearly boiling water in the bowl, fetched a towel and draped it completely over me and the bowl.

I think I stayed under for two breaths. When I came back up, I made several observations:

Obs #1: I won't have to worry about excess nose hair when I grow old.
Obs #2: I should tell my grandpa about this remedy.
Obs #3: My sinuses are open. At last! But I didn't realize I had them in my big toes.
Obs #4: I should add more water.
Obs #5: Does nose hair grow back?

After I had shaken my brain back into place, I went to go find Ellie.

“Uh yeah,” she said after looking at me. “I use like one drop for eight cups of water.”

It's amazing how some things are clouded one second and clear as crystal the next. :-)

Anyway, I'm getting better and I'm happy about it.

Wow, sounds like that stuff really works! We have eucalyptis and camphor but I had never tried a combination of all those things together.
I'm glad you're feeling better and on the road to healh.
