March 20th -- flower

When I was younger, I collected china in all forms... unfortunately, as I grow older, my priorities have changed and I have stopped collecting for the most part.

However, on my 25th birthday, Michele gave me a beautiful cake stand (late 1800's) to add to my collection. I consider it among the most beautiful items I own.

Each day, I look at it and revel in the beauty of friendship... and exquisite china

3 More Days!

Lindsey's here so we're going to be keeping busy all day. :-) Today: get wedding stuff to the Hall, go over a to do list that Samantha made for me, contact Laurette about potted flowers, try on my dress so Lindsey can bustle it, start making favors, getting spaghetti recipe from Shelly S., talk to the photographer, clean up around our house, get the trailer set up, wash beddings, and the list goes on and on... it's going to be a busy day!

A few of my favorite things...

I really like the colors and variations of texture of this bouquet. I would change a few things, however.

I would use delphiniums. I love the partially tamed wildflower look.

My favorites are these deep blue ones. Aren't they lovely?

But I also want to add English roses or a rose that looks similar to an English rose. These ones are the perfect shade... just a tad pink but very ivory.

(I'm sharing this just because the kid is so cute. ;-))

All shapes, sizes and colors... English roses are absolutely amazing in every way. I really wish they could grow in Saskatchewan!

Pictures

Just some pictures from around the house...

We had so much fun with the grandparents! :)

Jesse took this picture of me.

It's so hard to get a good picture of poultry. Lol. But I love this one.

Sara is walking!

It was his idea!!

One of those generation shots that everyone wants to take. ;)

The boys were playing their version of croquet.

I love tulips. They're so much fun to take pictures of... fiddleheads are nice, too.

The Poppies in the Garden

The poppies in the garden, they all wear frocks of silk,
Some are purple, some are pink, and others white as milk,
Light, light for dancing in, for dancing when the breeze
Play a little two-step for the blossoms and the bees.
Fine, fine, for dancing in, frilly at the hem,
Oh, when I watch the poppies dance I long to dance like them!

The poppies in the garden have let their silk frocks fall
All about the border paths, but where are they at all?
Here a frill and there a flounce – a rag of silky red,
But not a poppy-girl is left – I think they went to bed.
Gone to bed and gone to sleep; and weary they must be,
For each has left her box of dreams upon the stem for me.

Pictures... lots of them! :-)

Riding horses after swimming in the dugout.

Getting better from the flu. :-)

My sister Martha.

Jesse loves to tell stories and he was in the middle of one just then... :-)

Martha took this photo the other evening. I love it. The clouds... the colors... the light... the shapes... ahhhh! :-D

We have lots of delphiniums planted around our deck. Mrs. Bodner obviously had an eye for color and for flowers. So beautiful! :-)

Close up shot of our delphiniums. I love that color of blue.

A friend of ours is taking care of a little indian girl for the summer or so... he brought her over to take riding lessons and to visit. Four of us girls (including yours truly ;-)) got together to create this piece of art. :-) We shared a lot of giggles over it!

Here is the original photo... :-)
